    mp3 management software?

    Hey y'all

I'm looking for some software to help manage my disorganized collection of mp3s.

I'm looking for a program that would allow me to tag and sort mp3 files by things like artist name, album name, genre, rating, etc., and also let me (preferably) let me burn directly from the program.

    Does anything like that exist?

    Thanks,

Just had a look at my son's setup.
He has 18.6gig of music in a "MY MUSIC" folder. No program to manage it, just Windows.
This is set up by having a folder for each band and their music held inside.
Took a bit of work to create it but it works well.

Total number of songs = 4800.
Total folders within the "MY MUSIC" folder = 476.

Guess what I am saying here is that there really is no need for another program taking up space when Windows can do it.

There are 2 pieces of software I would suggest getting, Music Match and Tag & Rename. Music Match is excellent for managing the collection and Tag & Rename is the absolute best for modifying ID tags. I have a 60 GB collection and keeping all of the tags straight can be tough but T&R makes it a total snap.

    thanks guys

croc - that's what I have been doing (putting tracks into folders based on band name) but for various reasons I find it to be a frustrating way to do business.

C.M. Weaver - thanks. MusicMatch looks good from what I have seen on their website. I'll have to take a look at tag and rename too.
