    Question DVD Software

    Hi Yall,
Question: What's the best DVD software? I was reading about DirectDVD and it looked really good, but I couldn't get the trial version to work. Tried Power DVD, and it was VERY smooth.
I've been using WIN DVD, but lately it's gotten really choppy ... thought it was my DVD drive, but the Power DVD worked so well that can't be it.
What do yall use and have you heard of Direct DVD?

    Thanx!

The Direct DVD demo does not work in windows 2000 ..
I try it and was full of problems the picture was not running ,the sound was full of clicking noises .

I test it for some time , but i could make the picture run normaly or the sound no matter what .

Now about the WinDVD its a fine software with more crisp picture than Power DVD , but i was having clicking sounds in small volume in some parts of the movie .

Power DVD its my selection just because its the most stable and with great compatability with my hardware .
I have the 3.0 version and its fantastic .

    My hardware is :
    VGA Voodoo3 3k
Sound MX300 ( Aureal 4 channels output) fantastic sound with dolby AC3 build in support .
    DVD HITACHI GD-8000 DVD RAM

PowerDVD 3 and WinDVD 3 interlace frames, so the picture won't be as sharp as something like Cinemaster 99 or WinDVD 2.

Why the newer versions cater to lower system specs, I don't know.

Before you get in trouble with new testing , just check to see if in your DVD drive , the DMA setting is enable .

    If not enable it !!
