How to add favorites on start menu:\ How to add Windows Update on start menu

I just reinstalled IE and found that these were not there. Ne ideas on how to get them back?

Drag and drop.
Find the file/folder and drag it onto the start button. Works in 98/NT so it should work in 2000.

Or go into settings on the menu and click on taskbar then click on start menu programs. Click on add then use brouse and go to windows once the windows files are open where it says program files. Change it to all files. Then look for wvupmger then click on open. Then click next. Thenclick on program folder click next. Then finsh this will add windows update to your menu.
