Thread: Tweak Intel21041 NIC?

    Post Tweak Intel21041 NIC?

Has anyone tried tweaking the NIC going to the cable modem?
    I have an Intel 21401 10baseT
Noticed in PROPERTIES\ADVANCED there are several options to change:
    Extra receive buffers (default =16)
    Receive buffers (default =16)
    Transmit threshold (default=96 bytes)
    Process transmit first (enable/disable)
    Anyone toy with changing these?
BTW: I use the Irq=4096 trick to add 4 meg buffer to the card in system.ini, it does work
    My record PEAK throughput 4560.1Kbps

I use 6120 to my nic which is 5 megs works a lot better. I have always use this setting sense I got cable 4 1/2 years ago. The man who installed my cable put this in. My speeds are great.
    Have A Nice Day!!!!!!!!!
