I need to know what kind of hardware upgrades I can make to help speed up my cable modem. I have a pentium 200 mmx with 64mb ram. Can upgrade it to pentium 2 300 with 128mb ram? what should I do?
The system you have is fast enough so it won't slow down your cable modem unless you run 20 applications at the same time . The only hardware upgrade you can do to eventually increase your transfers a bit is the network card. It should be PCI, and good brandname, 3COM for example. However, if you already have a decent card, you won't seee any improvement.
