3-10% increase is not that huge in CPU specs I suppose, AMD has the lead right now to skip a generation and leapfrog to Zen 4 I guess. 7nm vs. 10nm for Intel..

EDIT: Some YouTuber RedGamingTech got the info. from inside sources. Not sure what to think of it yet.
Zen 3+ was never a guarantee, and likely got cut to focus resources on more Zen 3 production and finishing Zen 4.

Between my Asus X570 Mobo and the Ryzen 7 3700X (which I'm very happy with) I have plenty of room to upgrade to a 5000 series CPU in a year or so and get a nice boost.
