I buy, sell /install network cards on a regular basis. I notice quite often I get a network card that just refuses to negotiate an IP address no matter what you do. I've tried getting the latest drivers, reseating etc, etc, etc. These are new cards that are doing this, everything from a 3com905 to a RealTEK. Doesn't really seem to matter what brand. They work fine for Netbui, Netbios, or even for a static IP with TCP/IP, they just won't dynamically negotiate an IP. Anybody know of a way to force them to. Using Winipcfg to release and refresh doesn't do any good at all.
