    Portable bluetooth speaker suggestions?

In the market for one, so I can listen to music in the car w/ my phone.

A buddy is recommending the Bose Sound Link Mini 2, has one and loves it.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks, appreciated.

Sony SRS XB2 (or XB20?) - great sound, NFC (Bose doesn't have it), 12hr battery life, splash-proof, bass boost, they actually sound comparable to the Bose Link Mini to me, that's why I got the Sony for half the price about a year ago. I was actually comparing them and went with the Sony, very happy with it.
Linux is user friendly, it's just picky about its friends...

Just to listen to music in the car? I used a Bluetooth to fm transmitter in my work van for some time before I started using my personal car for work.

Pete is right, if it is just for the car you may have better options to use your car speakers.. FM transmitter, or, if the car radio has an aux jack you can use one of those 3.5mm to Bluetooth dongles, they are cheap/small and USB-powered. Just lookup "Aux to Bluetooth adapter".

The car mostly, but will also come in handy in the garden and doing chores outside.

Went with Philip's suggestion and loving it so far

A little worried about durability, but I baby all my electronics.

Mine has held up well for over a year, it is weather-resistant, etc. but most importantly (to me) it sounds better than 90% of the others I've heard.

    I'm very impressed.

First bluetooth speaker (first cell phone) but it sounds great.

Brought it inside to play with it the night I got it and I'm scared to increase the volume past a certain point.

It will thump (my Forged In Fire rip).
