    Windows 10

    Got this on my laptop.

Should I upgrade once it becomes available?

Even if you do reserve your upgrade you can still decline any time you want.

    Thanks guys.

I signed up/Reserved a copy and posted here, to see if anybody had a reason to maybe NOT upgrade.

But a Free 100% Legal Copy sounded good to me.

They want as many people as possible to move from Windows 7 and 8/8.1 to Windows 10. That's why they are doing it. They will still make money off of new PC sales, and sales of Windows 10 once the free period is over. Or anybody running XP or vista that want to upgrade, they will have to pay.

The version of 10 you'll be seeing as the free download will have some features crippled.

Depends on which free version of 10 you get. And its basically like Home, Home Premium, and pro for past Windows versions. They've mentioned needing no subscription fee to keep it updated as well.

I'm sure they will have a bigger selection of things on teh windows store, but I think they mainly want to get more people to adopt the latest version. It might be more valuable to get everyone on it free or cheaply and use the user base as a marketting/barganing tool when dealing with other companies, or trying to get more developers to make apps for windows phone.

There will be Home and Pro, so yes, if you get Home it will have some features missing compared to Pro. If your running Pro now though you'll get 10 Pro. About all you lose is Media Center if you have it installed. The free version will not be any different than the one you would buy after the free upgrade period expires though. It's not crippled because its the free version.

    Yup...you're on the right path.

Pay attention to that "ad space"....that you currently see now with that Windows 10 update notification next to the systray....
