Oh boy, managed to piss a Windows scammer

Watching "Out of the Furnace" and got a call from Windows security asking for the main computer user.
    Caller ID of Internal Medicine

    Strong Indian/Pakistani ? accent.

My reply: "Save us both some time. Put the phone down and go f*ck youself"

    Immediate call back.
"What happened sir? You MF'er. You are the assh*le."
He was not happy when I told him where to gently insert his computer.

I hope Microsoft hires some new people These guys are quite uncouth.

I get those about once a month. Usually they have the name "Windows" in their pitch as to where they're calling from. They start by saying that their servers have been reporting some trouble on my computer... bla bla bla. Depending on how I feel I may just hang up or mess with them for a while. I've actually been out in the back yard weeding the flower beds with the speaker phone on and tell him "Yes, I am sitting in front of my computer, You want me to click on what?" When they call you it's actually a 2 or 3 tier scam. The first guy is just there to see if you'll fall for it. Then he'll put on another guy who wants you to go to their website and download something and then if you do that and walk him through the routine they then bring in the "closer". It's pretty funny. There are some pretty cool YouTube videos of guys screwing with them. Sometimes it's a contest to see who can keep the scammer on the line the longest. But like yourself, I have had one of them cuss me out after about 10 minutes of thinking I was falling for the scam.

I only screw with them if they catch me in a bored mood and I've got some time to kill.

Time was there, and the fact the guy's Engrish was bad made it that much more tempting
Hell, maybe he'll call back tomorrow.

I get them too and called Verizon to see about blocking them. The phone shows everything from 501 to 555 area codes that aren't used to unknown to odd series of numbers like 1234567 or 309358509845730 . I ask Verizon why they can't do a system block on the 501 to 555 numbers and the gal had no answer but said she's move the request up the ladder.

After telling one gent to fo... the calls increased in frequency to several a day. I finally just unplugged it for a couple of weeks. The calls have stopped for now.

This is a home phone number I've had for over 20 years and moved to wireless cuz the cost was so cheap. The calls actually started before I moved to Verizon however. That said.. they did warn against ever answering a call from a number you don't know as there is another scam where is you answer the scam lets them make overseas calls.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

I had one not long ago, she told me she was from microsoft windows. I had her on the phone for about 5 mins listening intently to what she had to say and then excused myself and said I would be back in a minute and put the phone down and went into the lounge room to watch TV, went back after 20 mins and of course, she was gone. I haven't heard from them since

You can get apps to block certain numbers if you want.

Best not to respond to them if possible. They do sell active phone numbers to other groups/companies, same with email addresses... Pissing them off will probably cause you to get more calls in the future...
