    Got My Heart Specialist's Interview & Findings Today

    Well i had my interview with the Toronto General Heart Specialist today & it was not too encouraging unfortunately.

    He confirmed what i had suspected due to past advice from heart specialists, that a bypass surgery was not in the cards. Apparently my remaining lung is in bad shape and combined with my ticker the odds of my getting off the table where not at all favorable. So its a no go.

    He was a nice guy and he gave me the straight goods as i had asked for and his opinion is to try to stent 2 or perhaps 3 of the 10 blockages that i have which hopefully would offer some relief. He feels that trying to be too aggressive or trying to do too much here would be not in my best interests either & that they might try to go after the two main obstructions & if all goes well perhaps a 3rd, but they must be extremely cautious doing so.

    If they can get away with this much it should help somewhat. How much he was unsure of, but if done with care i should pull through.

    I will have to remain on oxygen for life and it would end any ability for me to lift anything heavy, so back to peeing sitting down. Stress must be totally eliminated. I would have to follow my bodies guide to slow or rest when needed etc. What the hell i lead a boring life anyway, so no biggy their.

    Nothing can be done about my lung so i will simply have to deal with things as they change over time.

    Well today after leaving my Mom's to go to the hospital i was confronted on Armour Rd my a traffic jam with cars going both ways stopping and crawling forward. I couldn't see anything but as i moved forward their in the road was a very large wild Turkey. He was in the middle and couldn't decide to go forward or back. People where nice and giving it time. When i got next to it i had my window down and decided to tell it to move in the hopes it might prompt it to cross the road. I yelled at it and it disappeared as i drove by and when i looked in my mirrors to see what it did their it was running alongside me. I stepped up my pace and he tailed off and i lost track of him. Hope he made it.

    On my way home when i hit Havelock at shortly after 5PM it all of a sudden was like daylight & their in front of me was a beautiful full moon. It was simply ablaze. Don't recall ever seeing one so bright and perfect. Looking out this morning just prior to sitting down to write this it was still illuminating the sky, very pretty.

    I take these two happenings today as a sign of good luck.

    The specialist suggests i wait till he speaks with my regular Doctor, my heart specialist and finally to my lung Doctor and then to the surgeon who would be doing the angioplasty with the stent's so he can apprize them of his findings and suggestions and that would take me into Jan. before they would operate on me. They would do the operation in Peterborough saving me a trip to Toronto.

    I thanked him for his candor and time and told him i bounced pretty good for an old fart and he stated he liked my outlook and humor and thought things would go well, as i know they will.

    Anyway, Merry Christmas, things are fine with me.

    ===

    Sorry the full monty can't be done, but doing a few little things can result to a decent quality of life?

    I too admired that same moon last night....was quite bright. But dangit did it bring some cold with it...single digit stuff. Wind chill has it at -9 I saw on the weather this morning. Common for you Canadians....but our blood ain't used to it as much. BRRRRR!

    No excitement? Does that mean you're giving up watching Hockey?
