    Cool Good Old Days

This was the way it was in the 50's. I remember it well.

This will take you back to the "Good Old Days" when dancing was fun.
This couple is great together and I can see why they won.
2012 Junior II Champs - National Shag Dance

Usually the female is featured, but here the young man steals the show - his legs are like liquid magic. And, bless Her heart, she lets him shine.

He's 17 and she's only 15. But together, they won the 2012 Junior Division National Carol ina Shag Dancing Championships., They're dancing to Joe Turner's "Flip, Flop and Fly."

    Very cool! He's quite smooth.

A few years before my time but we did similar stuff. We also did bear hug slow dancing, close & tight, dipping way down to the floor, those pesky chaperones trying to pry us apart.

    Hi TonyT

I was never a dancer myself but i used to go with my buddies to hook up with the fairer sex. I was Catholic and the Nuns and Priests used to be in charge and as you say No Contact was the order of the day. We used to call them Sock Hops as no shoes where allowed as most often the dance was on the gym floor. Much better times where had at private dances on Fri. & Sat. nights.

I'd wait till a tune was almost over and ask some gal if she'd like to dance and by the time we got to the floor the tune had ended and i'd suggest we go for a smoke outside, worked well for me

I must admit guys who could dance had no problems finding willing partners.

Good times & great music back then.

Oh, I get it, you didn't have your own smokes, so you got 'em from the gals!

We had a dance hall above the mayors office. Small town rural Minnesota late 70s. About 50 to 100 plus teenage couples would show up. Kids today are missing out on the so much simpler times.

I couldn't agree more Far-N-Wide. I truly miss those days, gentler times.
