MTU changes from 576 to 1500 but reverts on restarting Win7 64 bit

The MTU changes from 576 to 1500 when I run TCP Optimiser but reverts on restarting Win7 64 bit to 576. How do I change the default value and make it stick?
I have 40Mbs fibre broadband and get 18Mbs with MTU of 576 and 38Mbs with MTU of 1500. We have several other computers in the house all with MTU set to 1500 by default. They all get 38Mbs over WiFi. Whats up with my Asus UX32A ultrabook? It has dual channel dual frequency WiFi. Intel i5 3317U. 4GB ram. I tried Asus tech support but they don't understand the question! Please help.

Are you applying the setting(s) from TCP OPtimizer for all of the adapters listed?
