Unhappy Cookies, cookies, and more cookies!!!

    Hello all,

I was wondering if it were normal to be receiving a bunch of cookies after going into a webpage via google chrome. For example, when I open the browser and type in www.google.com I used to be redirected to some other website and left unable to go to any other website. I have somehow blocked this by typing in https (secure connection) instead of http. What I am wondering is how are these websites redirecting my browser and is there anything I am able to do to stop this (perhaps something with my wifi router?)?

    Thank you!

If you're being redirected to sites other than the one you're typing into your browsers address bar....scan your computer for malware....including rootkits.

Cookies by themselves are mostly harmless (most sites use them to store your preferences/user data between pages), browser redirects are not.
