well its that time again. My current system is now about 4 years old so its time to upgrade. Need your opinions/suggestions between AMD or intel.

I use my system for heavy surfing/ downloading/watching video, medium gaming, and also do alot of VM experimentation using vmware desktop

I already have a GTX 650, segate bericuda 2 tarabyte Hard drive and 700 watt coolmaster PS and new Zalman Z9 Plus Mid Towerr case that i will be using in my new system.

    AMD config:

    Antec KUHLER H2O 620 Liquid Cooling System for Intel LGA 775, 1155, 1156, 1366, AMD AM2, AM3, AM2+, AM3+ CPU

total with saber tooth board + (13%)tax: $553.
    total with other motherboard+ (13%)tax: $510.

Intel is simply the better chip these days.

Essentially the only reason to buy AMD is if you couldn't afford Intel for some reason.

Or if you like AMD over Intel for whatever reason. Im not saying its rational but i am saying i am one of them.

I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.
