That's great. Happy to test any beta version of the tool if needed.

Since Windows 7 there isn't really any reason to use it.

I had this question too. In the meantime, you can make the current version work with Windows 8
by running the program as admin, and in Windows 7 compatibility mode. All applicable features and tweaks will work.

Right click the program executable, "properties," "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7" from the dropdown menu, and
check the box "run this program as administrator" at the bottom.

I think this should be a sticky.

Ok, so to jump into this and bump it, It's really needed because I have seen notable changes in Win8.1 settings compared to Win7/earlier TCP stacks,
if an certain value would be as example for Win7, optimized by the tool, 32, It is now by Windows 8.1's default like a round 500, they changed alot and the values of
different settings were rounded up to increased values ... I dont think TCP optimizer will speed it up anymore if it'll just reduce these..

Philip, I can see you're still active on the forum, how far are you in the progress of developing an Windows 8 tcp optimizer? do you need any help/beta testers?
It would be great to have the tool updated

Look at the views of this thread.. I think the community is yelling for an nice update!

the only bad thing of running TCP Optimizer in "Windows 7 compatibility mode" under Windows 8 or 8.1 is that the TCP Optimizer program will MIS-IDENTIFY the Win8.x OS as "Windows 7" as I just did this on my dad's Toshiba laptop with pre-installed Windows 8.1.

So I think the TCP Optimizer program needs an update bigtime to properly support Windows 8, 8.1 and possibly the next version of Windows which could be Windows 9.

For the love. Just leave the settings alone. When someone can show significant improvements over their current settings, I will concede. Until then I stand by my statements.

    Question Windows 8.1 Support?

Well, it is a year and a half since 5-Feb-13.

    1. Does TCP Optimizer work on properly on Windows 8.1?

    2. If not, will TCP Optimizer ever be updated to work on Windows 8.1?

Could you please properly add Windows 8.1 support?
Also, the max speed on the slider is 100mbps, could you add up to 155mbps? for people like me who have a 152mbps cable package (Virgin Media UK).

Hmm, when it's done - when ever this will be - some people got 200 Mbit/s or 400 mbit/s fibre-to-the-wall so just add these, too.

And also add Windows 10 support.

Because, really, Windows releases come out faster than TCP/IP Optimizer builds.

I've updated our Windows 8/8.1/Server 2012 R2 tweaks article on the main site here:
    http://www.speedguide.net/articles/w...ip-tweaks-5077

TCP Optimizer that addresses all the small differences in all those OSes is in the works, however, I can't specify an exact release date.
