Cool Whatís the best motherboard for gaming

Letís pretend price is no object. Iím thinking of the Asus Rampage because it has six slots for memory.

Can you think of any mobo that would be better?

It’s been a while now since I first made the post. Nobody has an opinion, like yay, nay or “X” brand makes a better board?

I've always liked ASUS. I've seen some great reviews on the "ASUS P8Z68V PRO". Many of the newer boards that are geared towards gaming sometimes leave out a regular PCI slot. I'm still using a sound card in Win 7 64 that uses a PCI slot so that's always a deal breaker for me.

I've been a longtime fan of Asus motherboards. As for "best"...sorta depends what your goal is, what features you wan. Are you planning on running dual video cards? So you need RAID? How many NICs do you need? How many additional expansion slots do you want? Full sized tower? Going smaller?

"Best for you" and "Best for me" and "Best for him" may be 3 different motherboards.

ASUS as well... Not had a issue with any of them I've gotten yet and I love their bios update features. The ASUS boards seem to be the best for all sorts of reasons.. so go for it.

I'm not generally a fan boi of this brand or that, but I give another vote for Asus boards...They have always treated me well over the years.

With that being said if you are looking to build a new system I would lean more towards a Sandy Bridge setup on the 1155 boards...nearly the same performance at a much better price point. This will completely kill the statement I just made about affordability but as you had requested this would be the best 1155 board out right now, price be damned.

Not to hijack this thread, but do they still make MB's with parallel ports?

I don't think so but you can always find a PCI card to add it in.

    Rampage Extreme III Black Edition

It has 6 slots for memory because it's triple channel motherboard.
