Fixed a few more styling issues with blogs/profiles/social groups, added "Gallery" to the navbar and linked login better to the main site (more info in my blog entry).

The blog section seems a little useless. So each entry made to the blog is posted latest first? If we all actually used it, it would be hard to keep up with.
Blogs can be categorized, both on a global level and in your personal blog. You can also add tags to each post, and people can follow a certain person/topic only. They can also be styled/personalized/voted on, so it can actually work for those that are interested.
I should start blogging![]()
Once you click the "Blogs" tab in the navbar, just look at the line of sub-links under it, here is the "Members Blogs" direct link:
http://forums.speedguide.net/blog.php?do=bloglist
Clicking on any of the names would bring up just that user's blog.
You can access a specific member's blog... (the number at the end of the link is the userid)
http://forums.speedguide.net/blog.php?4
For example, if you had one it would be at http://forums.speedguide.net/blog.php?17191
You can also customize the look/categories/privacy/etc of your own blog:

So I can't organize the main list at the blogs page?
As in, I cant reduce it? Right now there are 2 blogs, yours and Penguin's. But each entry pops up, I cant make it so it just says Philip's blog and Penguin's blog?
The main "Blogs" page is not user-editable, but you can access "Philip's blog" if you want (as described in my last post), the personal blogs are just sub-categories of that page.
I can probably link the main "Blogs" page to http://forums.speedguide.net/blog.php?do=bloglist if that makes more sense, not sure it would serve any purpose with a larger number of blogs though.

Ah! "Member Blogs" perfect! No you don't need to change the link, having that view ability is all I hoped for to show more per page should it become a popular feature.
There were some search-related problems with the forums, so I cleared the search index and am currently reindexing the database... It takes a few hours, and even though I modified the default vBulletin functions to better control server load and keep the site/forums operational, you may experience some slight slugishness/delays in the next 3-4 hours.

Is it me or have to drop down forum menus gone?
They're still here: http://www.speedguide.net/index.php but not on the general discussion page.
Philip has to find a new place for them, if he chooses to put them here. Hell at this rate vB 5 will make him have to redesign all of SG. lol
"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Philip again."
Sorry Phildawg, I tried to give you reps for bringing the top menu back.![]()
It's all good, I'll just pat myself on the back
It just took me a while to position everything correctly. In fact, there are still a couple of styling issues with the vB top links that I"m working on.
Awww thanks so much for the top menu navigation!! Much better!
I didn't read all the posts so please forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I've noticed that when I try to add a smiley to a post, it always appears at the very beginning no matter where the cursor is on the screen. It just inserts itself ahead of the first character I typed in that post. I will mention that I am running IE9 beta 32 bit on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. Maybe its just an IE9 problem, I don't know.< cut and pasted to here.
I don't know the same things you don't know.
