Chris Wallace, Shirley Sherrod, and FOX News
Chris Wallace sets the record straight regarding Shirley Sherrod and FOX News.

He chastises Robert Gibbs and the White House for blaming the media and FOX News for misrepresenting Sherrod's speech to the NAACP. The fact is FOX didn't talk about Sherrod until after she was forced to resign. Wallace says only Bill O'Reilly mentioned Sherrod prior to her resignation and he apologized for his comments.

FOX News didn't push the White House and the NAACP into rushing to judgment about Sherrod. Wallace says they have no one to blame but themselves. The NAACP was in possession of the entire tape yet that didn't stop NAACP president Benjamin Jealous from condemning her.

Wallace also says that he hopes Obama doesn't give in to Sherrod's demands to speak to him one-on-one, expressing his concern about an individual insisting that she get a private meeting with the president.

BS, but it's just like Fox to place the blame elsewhere. Facts are they contributed to a situation where many people screwed up.

    Fox was dead wrong.

At least one of their own got it right.

Seems like it might be more for her line of work to get her to be open and fair to all kinds of people, and spun, over dramatized by lawyers.

I am amazed that you somehow think that simply because the Obama Administration screwed up that it justifies Fox not doing their homework to verify the source of the information. Now of all times in your thinking is the moment for Fox to trust Obama when they have shown little capacity to do so before hand?

Assuming this is true? Good for the university!

She's going into school counseling! There's no place for a counselor to make judgements on anyone who walks through their doors, but only to help the people coming in to figure things out on their own. Given that she sounds like she's absolutely biased towards fundimentally flawed ways of thinking (read: archaic Christian false "morality"), the university is just doing their duty of protecting innocent school age children who would otherwise be demonized by this woman.

Personal beliefs and morals have no business in the workplace. She sounds like she doesn't understand that, and the university is right to try to change that fact.

Did I miss something Paft? I don't recall her stating just because she had beliefs a certain way that she would enforce them on others.

If she is going to let her religious beliefs interfere with the job then perhaps she is not cut out for the job. She should have just done the remediation plan (which is not going to hurt her) and proved that she can at least be objectionable.

Homosexuality, itself, is not a lifestyle, Miggs. Just like having brown hair is not a lifestyle.

    She said...

I can't alter my biblical beliefs, and I will not affirm the morality of those behaviors in a counseling situation.
Her personal religious beliefs don't belong in a counseling situation.

Not sure if that was in the Fox link, I didn't read the Fox one.

Here is another source if anyone wants.
