    Husky got a spider bite

Either a mild brown recluse bite or one hell of an allergic reaction to a yellow jacket or wasp sting.

This was taken yesterday after work (she was bitten yesterday morning).

Today it's almost twice as bad and her right eye is swollen half shut.

Got back from the vet a while ago so at this point just waiting for the swelling to go down.

    Yeah
Looks horrible and is obviously painful and uncomfortable for her.

She's wearing a big e-collar now and I just need to take care of the wounds and keep them clean and dry.

I'm hoping the scarring won't be as bad as I think it will be. The vet said it's common for hair to never grow back because the dermal layer on top of the snout is so thin, any damage there at all can wipe out the hair follicles.

    This is rough.

Swelling has gone down, now 75% of the snout top is crusted over with burst blisters. She looks nasty, like someone poured battery acid on her snout.

She's on hardcore antibiotics, and I've got both a steroidal antibiotic topical and Vetericyn to keep it clean. Benadryl/diphenhydramine to keep the swelling down. XL Kong e-collar to keep her from scratching it and rubbing it in the grass. Probiotics to help her digest her food since the cephalexine will wipe out her gut's beneficial bacteria.

Swept off the cement portion of her kennel, re-cedar shavinged the dirt part, washed the bed, hit the chain link with a hose, am thinking about blasting something toxic under the shed the cement slab is up against.

Extra belly rubs and head scratches for Asha, canned food for everyone.

    She's doing good, thanks

The swelling continued for almost 48 hours, twice what the vet expected.

The swelling went down a few days ago. Blistered burst and were damn nasty, trying to keep them clean.

I'm hoping the fur grows back to normal...she's such a gorgeous dog Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.

Serious antibiotics still, 1 gram of Cephalexin 2x per day. Halved the Benadryl.

Still wearing her E collar...she hates it but used to it very quickly. Still tries like hell to scratch her snout...which is the worst thing possible.
