Setting up a router to work with a single internet IP address

[Roger 2008]

I want to setup a router so instead of it being open to everybody on the
internet it is only open to a specific IP address. Meaning, the web server
connected to that router will only be visible from a single internet IP
address. There has to be a way to do this or a web page that tells me now.

The router I intend to use for that purpose is a Linksys WRT160NL.

Any pointers?

Hi,
With that router you'll be better off with dd-wrt firmware and solicit
ideas from dd-wrt forum. I am on dd-wrt with WRT-610N-V2.

I have a netgear router and i find what you need in:
Outgoing service in Firewall rules - per example i can always permit the
"HTTP" for "one IP adress on lan" or for "one IP adress on wan"
or permit "ALL" for "one IP adress on lan" or for "one IP adress on wan"
or block "NEWS" for "one IP adress on lan" or for "one IP adress on wan".


"for "one IP adress on lan" or for "one IP adress on wan"" can be also
an range of ip adressses.
