    Post @ Home scanning me

@ home is scanning me on a regular basis. Namely port 119. If I drop them into my denied list which will make it as if my machine doesn't even exist to them anymore, will they try to take some kind of action? It just bugs me that they are doing this on such a frequent basis. Plus it fills up my logs.

bdog, relax...first off, BI will set an alarm to almost anything. As to @home scans, they are on newsgroup probation and are scanning to see if your running a newsgroup server.
If you have nothing to hide, then let it slide, since there really isn't any harm in this.
You installed a firewall to protect your ports and thats what its doing.
If it bothers you, send an email to abuse@home.com detailing the attack your getting. If they get enough of them maybe the scans will get less frequent.

Thanks for the reply. I am not using BlackIce. I have a Linux box set up as a router/firewall. I get no false alarms. I actually see exactly what the are doing. Anyway, I have nothing to hide, and it isn't that big of a deal. It just is kind of strange that they do this about a dozen times a day. If they are doing this to every single user they are using up a lot of bandwidth.

nope, not much bandwidth at all. they could probably scan every @home account in the USA on that port in less than 10 minutes!
