Do you plan on shopping on Black Friday?

Do you shop on Black Friday? Or, do you bury your head in the sand and avoid all the craziness? Why? Why not?

Black Friday is a term for the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, which is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. Because Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday occurs between the 23rd and the 29th of November. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(shopping)
I am never a big fan of shopping, let alone on a day when a zillion people are out doing the same thing, but I am pretty tempted to shop online this year: http://blackfriday2009sale.info

as soon as the internet provided me with a mob-free way to deal with holiday shopping, i have never looked back.

i worked a few years in mall retail. i am scarred for life. so, to answer the question i am burying my head in the sand.

You ever taste bear? It is YUM!!!

My cousin in law goes during the season around here and I've never taken him up on the offer. I've been on deer hunts, never on a bear one.

I don't like shopping, I'm not a fan of crowds. I get pissed off rather quickly when constantly faced with rude ignorant people.

You couldn't pay me to go shopping on Black Friday.

My wife loves shopping, she loves Black Friday. But the past couple of years...it's just too crazy and too many rude ignorant people shoving themselves in front of you, cutting lines, knocking you over to get to something before you can grab it, all that crap.

I kept asking her "Why do you get up at 3 in the morning to go to this insanity?"

I think it she finally digested that this year, she's giving it up.

The onlin deals are there, shop from the comfort of your own home...on the couch, in front of the fireplace, with your laptop..when you feel like it, at your convenience, no crowds, no shoving, no rudeness, same savings.

    because its there?

If I have a big enough one run by me I'll take it down, bear meat is pretty darn good.

The first time I went shopping on Black Friday was in 2007 when I took my mother to Kohl's at 4 a.m. It was her first time too. We had a lot of fun. I guess the determining factor is "where" you shop. We had no problems at all. After shopping, we went to IHOP for breakfast at 6 a.m. I'll never forget it. Mom was all smiles.

Will I go this year? I highly doubt it. But, I've been known to change my mind at the last minute. Got to love spontaneity.

Work for me. Two sister-in-laws in town this Thanksgiving. I'd work Saturday and Sunday if I could.

The only time I went out on Black Friday was to get a Washer/Dryer Combo for $250 many years back, now I just shop online or nothing at all.

95% of everything I buy, I buy online. I really don't see the need to go out and put up with the crowds no matter what day it is. I'm never in a big rush to get anything. I shop online and it's here in a couple of day.

My wife plans on getting up early and stepping out into that insanity. She asked me if I wanted to go, I wished her good luck and told her to wake me up when she gets home.

As you may have already guessed, my answer was “are you nuts, no way!”.
