Optimize Broadband Upload Speed!! DSL

I am new to this forum so there are a lot of things that I don't understand. as how/where to post and finding the answers to my specific issue!!

I recently upgraded my DSL package to through my ISP as follows...

Downstream Speed: Up to 3.0 Mbps
Upstream Speed: Up to 512 Kbps For my job I need the following...

Bandwidth Down must be greater than 1000Kbits/sec
Bandwidth Up must be greater than 512Kbits/sec

Currently I test as follows...

Downstream Speed is 2569 Kbps(Great!!)
Upload is 437 Kbps(Not quite Good Enough!!)

Please answer or direct me how/where to find the answer to my delima!!! What "specifically" can I do to increase my upload speed closer to the 512 Kbps?

I need HELP!! and---I am not completely internet savy but I can handle the basics so please keep it simple as you can for me!!
