    Walmart

    I have to vent.

I hear all the bad stuff about Walmart and I'm calling ********.

I just got a part time job at Sears and it pays $6.50+commision in a state tha the minimum wage is $8.50. No one working there has got a raise unless it's a change in job.

I have a friend that works at Target that makes minimum wage and get not benefits like Walmart offers.

I have a friend that started as a checker at Walmart and over 10+ years makes 150,000 now.

    Walmart employs 2 MILLION people.

Safeway hires people at minimum wage and makes them union so they actually make less than minimum after union dues.

Sorry, my dollar gets more at Walmart so I shop there.

    Tired of people dissing Walmart.

    Bye

I'm just saying that they aren't out of the norm with the rest of retail business for pay and benefits.

I don't disagree with you, but the reason Walmart is targeted like they are is because of their size.

For what it's worth my family shops there also. Mainly their super center for food, but we do shop there.

Thats normal bitching from low level employees of any retailer like that, and not the main reason why they are so hated.

Everyone loves to hate the "Big Guys". Microsoft, Walmart, etc...

What I dislike is the fact that I can pick up 25 items at Walmart and 100% is made in China or another Pac rim country. Doesn't seem like too long a go they had signs like "Made in the USA" all over the place. Those days are loooong gone.

Why can't the USA bring inflation down, start manufacturing again and pay fair wages? Does a GM worker on the assembly line need to make $35 an hour? Can we keep our money in this country, control inflation and pay that worker $25 an hour? Maybe I'm too simple-minded, but if the Government and big business practiced 1/100th of what a Daddy teaches a little kid about economics then it seems like it would work. Does flat out greed keep this from being a possibility?
Won't be long at all before it is the Have and Have nots in a terrible way.

Wal-Mart is a bit scary in that it control DOUBLE DIGIT percentages of some fairly large sectors of the market. Capitalism is a great and wonderful thing until one company/retailer gets a stranglehold on the market. WalMart can crush just about any chain with predatory pricing and past operating practices have shown that Wally World is not above doing such.

How many of those 2 million employees make more than the hourly rate as reported here:

That why my wife doesn't let me shop with her. 4 dvds, box of shotgun shells, and a ps3 game made her ban me from going with her.

That's an eloquently stated position that does nothing to answer the question posed to you.

    Let's try it again...

Well, that's more than I make at Sears. So I don't get your question. Am I supposed to define all jobs at Walmart?
I was making a point that Walmart isn't out of the norm in pay.
And do you think it would be better if they didn't have jobs?

Times are tough. I can't collect unemployment since I'm a business owner. I get what I can to make money.
