    Mer's Photography Thread

Instead of making a new thread everything I take new pics, I thought it would be better to just have one thread that I update.

Not sure if these are too big, if there's a size limit pls let me know. These are 1200x800.

    Ocean Beach at sunset:

This one, I know it's not as clear or sharp as it could be, but I just love the colors, and the lights in the distance:

I want to go back for another try soon, after I get a tripod

I like making a new thread each time

Nice shots, always love beach images.

What was going on in the last shot? Still at the beach?

Nice shots. The water sure was choppy then. Must have been windy.

The pics are too big for my screen, which I think is 1024x768. I usually post pics at about 888 pixels wide here. It's up to you what size pics you want to post. Some people post pics that are too small too.

    Right now I use a 15" monitor but when I had a 17" I think I also used 1024x768 resolution.

Nice shot. The width is just right bit it's way too tall for my PC screen and I have to scroll to see the whole pic.

I think 600 to 700 pixels tall maximum and 800 or 900 wide would be just right for most of us.

    Lol! Oh, I see.

I like the lights on the bridge. The pic has a nice real effect to it. You're getting good with the new camera.

at the risk of seeming rude, i took the liberty of fixing the lighting of the bridge pic, maybe too far, but a quicky.

Not rude - I don't mind image editing, and your version does look nice. However, the darkness was kind of the whole point - every photo you see of the bridge is well-lit (unless it's a fog pic), or sparkling at night. When I took this photo it was an overcast day and twilight was fast approaching, and I like it because it looks dark and foreboding - it's not your typical bridge photo. Also, the photo is pretty much what it actually looked like at the time - quite dark, so lightening it sort of.. makes it into a different picture. You know what I mean? I like the darkness of the original

Seeing Lurch's staples pic reminded me that I took a couple staples pics the other day:
