SIGMA APO 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG Lens

This compact ultra-telephoto zoom lens is optimized for digital SLR cameras. It is ideal for sports, nature, wildlife, and landscape photography. The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, and also creates an optimum color balance and better picture quality through the entire zoom range. This lens uses one aspherical lens and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glasses for excellent correction of various chromatic aberrations.
    Start saving now.

The damage I could have done had I had that when the shuttle came through town

The cheapest I've seen it listed is around $1K. About the least expensive telephoto lens of that order that I know of for the Sony. Debating on whether to save up for that, or to get me a A350 body and let my daughter have the A100 body I have now...

No reason you can't have both, maybe not at the same time though.

Nice lens. I like most Sigma lenses, but just like any brands, there are a few duds. I have a non APO Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 that seems like a real good lens for the $$. People keep telling me I need the EF 55-250 or the 70-300 APO but I seem to get quite good results with this lens. I think I may have a real sharp copy of it or something, or maybe it's a special edition or something, or even my imagination?

^great photo Humboldt, stop posting things I want and making me drool! That lens looks fantastic, but yeah, a few more hundred bucks and it's the price of my camera already :/ Oh well.. I'm good with the lenses I've got for now - my zoom lens is quite good for what it is
