Ok i am using win xp with cricket wireless my stats on cricket state that my transmit rate is 108.2 kbps and my receive rate is 511.2 kbps but everything still seems slow and the speed test i have run don't even come close they put me at about 12 kbps any ideas that might help me

I have already tried everythig you suggested in your thread tcpoptimizer - tips for beginers and it just seems to be slower then it was. also i tried the win xp tweeks and no effect i am stumpped

I think it has something to do with the way the usb modem connects tcp optimizer doesn't show it so i think my bottlekneck is between the usb modem and the browser
Do a tracert yahoo.com and post.

The command window wont let me copy the results it closes as soon as it is done and if i try to copy before it is done it closes but what i can tell you is the numbers are all 300ms to 500ms I take that back the numbers are mostly 162ms up to 500ms

Upload speed cannot be tweaked, and is not affected by TCP values.
So when speedtest shows abnormal low upload speed, prime suspect is either presence of malware or some software problem in the comp.
And of course, a bad signal line can also cause the slowdown of upload speed.
