Using router as access point - only wireless?

After reading the excellent article "How to set a Wireless Router as an Access Point" I would like to put the following question:

The new router, acting as wireless access point, has 3 lan ports available....
    - Can I use these 3 ports to connect PC's?
    - I yes, id it necessary to modify something in the router or in the access point?

    Thanks in advance.

Assuming the article you followed had you uplink the 2nd wireless router (that you configured to run just as an access point) using a LAN port of this router to a LAN port of your first router, and you disabled DHCP on this second router:
    *Yes
    *No

Thank you very much for your instant reply.

So, we can say that the "access point" also works as a switch. Am I right?
