    hijackthis gurus (log posted)

long story short..... HP laptop. Vista. bizzarre connectivity issues. can ping other systems, but nothing browser-wise. in my own uneducated way it looks like the connection to wherever is getting terminated. all vista self-diagnose tools say "there is no problem). can get incoming AIM messages, but from the WAN side, little to nothing works, and if it does, only temporarily. flushed dns, virus scan. hosts file is empty. getting nowhere fast.

heres the hijackthis log. any red flags? can't use the app to send the log in. copied it and am posting from a diff machine.

Only got 2 seconds here..gotta run, but I do notice both Symantec and AVG.

Maybe yank them both, run SymNRT to complete cleaning up Symantec, run a TCP/Winsock repair utility, reboot..and see how she goes.
