    Printer/Fax machine issues

I just purchased a HP OfficeJet J3680 Model and I'm nearly ready to pull the Office Space rumble on the thing in the back yard cause I've not even used it yet but I'm getting jam after jam after jam WITHOUT ANY PAPER IN IT!!!

The sucker keeps wanting to align but it won't align as it keeps jamming no matter what I do. I've tried two different types of paper and I'm not about to go out looking for a certain paper for the damn thing to work when the paper works fine in my HP deskjet printer.

Anyone have any ideas??? I got it from newegg and I'm about ready to call them up to ask for a replacement before I thrash it.

Does the paper sensor seem messed up? Does it move freely?

there appear to be two spring loaded or gravity dropping arms which I would assume are the sensors or sensor and they both move freely. The thing is brand new... and with this much trouble I'm not sure its worth the effort fooling with it.

Piece of tap or a little bit of packing material stuck inside some where maybe?
I can't remember if it was an HP or not but I do remember getting printer that had the print cartridges, power pack, etc, stuffed into where the paper would go. Every thing was baged and taped and had about 300 remove first stickers on it.
I don't know the same things you don't know.

none that I can see... I've opened all the doors I can find and the paper feeds through fine sometimes...a few times it pulled 2 or 3 sheets up into it and a few times it would pull one but try to mangle it first few inches.

I've tried it a few more times with no change..horrible machine!! So I've contacted newegg which is where I got it for a refund and a label to send it back. Even if I got it to stop giving paper jam errors now I can no longer trust it to be reliable for the long haul. I've since ordered a Brother all in one to see how that one does...seems the all in ones are cheaper than the damn stand alone fax machines.

I'm generally not a fan of the AIW/MFP units.
They indeed are a combination of 3x cheaper components all wrapped up in one.

Although I have one at home...got the wife an HP Laserjet 3030.

I'm traditionally a fan of HP, but Brother makes some decent fax machines too..it's what we use at the office.
