Do I need a DVD to burn the ISO to or will it work on a CD?

    Should use a cd.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.

Which Linux Mint are you using? The download pages at the Linux Mint site specify either CD or DVD.

It is the main version. Must have just been a bad burn as today I was able to burn both Linux Mint and Knoppix to a CD-RW.
