    next gen iPhone...

It looks like the next gen of the iPhone is coming out soon. My VZW contract is up in mid-June so I'll be waiting for it to make the jump.

A friend of mine is testing the 3.0 software and so far it kicks ass. I wont up grade mine to this one but some of the features will be nice.

I'm probably going to switch over in July to At&T (currently with VZW) but what would be sweet beyond sweet is that if they offered a ruggedized version of the iphone.

That's the one thing that's holding me back from ditching my current BB Pearl....I'm close to giving the Storm a try...but dunno how "rugged" they are with those large screens. Same would apply if I were to consider an iPhone. That big glossy screen...how long will it last?

I have had my 3g for a few months now and with the replaceable screen protectors the screen stays perfect, and cases like this are very tough http://www.otterbox.com/iphone-cases...defender-case/
    I love this phone

I have been using an Ipod touch 32GB for a while now. When snapped into a Tumi protective case, it seems fairly secure. A film screen protector would be a fine adjunct as well.

The guy at work has the Tumi and it's in great shape. The one day he took it out and used it, he dropped it and broke the screen.

Lucky for him, he bought the coverage through Apple and they sent him a replacement ASAP.

    Friggin monopoly on the iPhone...

I still like a tactile keyboard, that is the ONE feature keeping me from going with the iPhone.

It's the G1...google phone. That has a keyboard and touch screen. The G2 will probably be the generation that gets Android into the mainstream.

So nice but I'd be afraid to break it. Thin and elegant may work for some but I like the feel of something more weighty in my hand.
