    They stay listed in technet.

I wonder if you can view the ones you've been assigned after the subscription runs out?

    Old time techneters?

This little promotion has been spreading around various tech forums like wildfire. I've never seen a free promotion go this widespread....dunno if MS intended it to, but.....

...eOpen and license access is usually pokey slow on normal days, and with kajillions of tech forums having posts on this 1 year free giveway, I'd imagine the servers are keeling over and getting slammed badly today.

I'm curious on if all new signees will actually get a full year out of this, I've been lax on checking my e-mail from MS over the past few weeks..but I don't recall seeing mention of this promotion from them.

Might be 3 months, but i wouldnt be surprised if the keys issued got blacklisted. Apparently this deal was part of a survey and the link got out and then spread. Not sure how they'd tell the rightful peeps apart from the ones that didn't take part in the survey.

Just have to wait and see.

It looks like they are going through and canceling subscriptions, people are talking about grayed out downloads and keys, and accounts and downloads going dead.

Have to wait and see about keys being blacklisted or not.

    ARS,

When attempting to get new keys or see old ones, users are now getting the following message: "There was an error error while trying to retrieve requsted key information and we cannot process your request." It's not clear if Microsoft is cutting people off or if the requests for keys simply became overwhelming for the servers (more likely). Of course, if you already got your keys, they should still work.
