Post Morrissey walks off stage in anti-meat protest

He's always been a bit of a drama queen.

British rocker MORRISSEY halted his performance at California's Coachella music festival on Friday (17Apr09) to protest against members of the audience who were eating meat.
The former Smiths frontman, a staunch vegetarian, was disgusted by the smell of barbecued meat wafting over the crowd at the Indio, California event.
And halfway through his set, the star stopped mid-song and walked off stage, telling the audience, "I can smell burning flesh and I hope to God it's human."
A few minutes later the star returned and re-started his performance, adding, "The smell of burning animals is making me sick. I just couldn't bear it."

Geeze! What did he expect? It wasn't billed as some sort of vegetarian concert. What an idiot.

I can't stand rock stars and/or bands that preace at concerts. Do it on your own time. Not when I paid good money to see you play.

Maybe he should only allow vegetarians to buy concert tickets.

It was his X gay lover, with the BBQ sauce who scored front row. Or it was an attack by an attacker, masking his chemicals with sauce. Bet you if the guy with the food was eating zuccini, if he had the sauce, the entertainer would have still walked of stage.

On my way home from the festival now. Morrissey walked off stage for about 2 minutes total, came back and eventually closed with a great performance of How Soon is Now. Paul McCartney was up next and played an epic 2 hour 25 minute set despite also being a "crazy vegetarian". The festival was amazing, as always.

    DV....

From all the pics I saw on the news the concert seemed more organized and a lot more relaxed. Maybe I'll check it out one year.

    Hey there Easto

I'd highly recommend it if you like some of the bands in the line up. Coachella is known for being a well run festival. Many consider it the best in the US. Here is the lineup from this weekend.

Mope, is too weak a word for this performance.
