Some people do run Macs for the glowing apple icon on the lid. You mostly see them in their black sweaters, working on screen plays at Starbucks. When I first picked up an iphone, I was annoyed by the amount of people asking me about it, whenever I was trying to use it. That was easily solved by putting it in a case that hides the damn logo.

This newest ad campaign from MS is amusing to me though. They'll again spend exorbitant amounts of money on a fail ad campaign, that has nothing to do with what they sell... Software. If this same effort would go into developing solid software, and retooling their approach, it would than sell on it's own merits. Instead they'll resell Vista back to everyone as a new OS in a couple of months. If they made 7 a free upgrade to people currently stuck with Vista, they would have been applauded, and regained some lost trust.
But since the Vista fiasco is such a mess, they've opted to cut their losses and leave the consumers holding the bill. Sadly most of these people only upgrade when they buy a new system. Now how cool is that?

Well I can't defend the Vista fiasco but I have to say they have caught up a bit and I don't know of any software company that hasn't had a fail to cause them grief. After all look at Creative..they were horrible slow and off the ball while at the same time pissing off customers of their audio cards when Vista came out with a lack of support plus making customers pay for something that fixed the problem on older audigy cards vs getting it free if you had a X-fi.

I've had experience using both mac and pc..and I can't stand the macs.... horrible to work on and they are very unsecure..sure there are not that many infections to get them cause of the percentage that are being used but they are more likely to get a infection vs a PC from the immune build up of patches over the years.

Mac or PC is all about personal preference. I find them more secure because of the Unix aspect, and the low value/attention for zero day exploits on the platform. I also like the productivity apps available. Once you get macports going that opens up all the nix stuff, than you add a VM to get the best of all worlds.

I heard Creative and other companies had a hell of a time writing drivers due to the API's. This will all carry over since 7 uses the same kernel. This is what I meant by they have to collaborate better with their partners. Considering the varied array of hardware MS has to run on, there's no easy fix.

I don't hate MS, I just expect more from them, due to their resources.

This is as good as the, "I'm a PC" ads being done on Macs.

I wasn't writing a screenplay, it was my manifesto and that black sweater was covering my jihad vest.

Well the commercial is presented as if it's real people. It's just kind of funny when you look at it.

It would funny if they ran *nix or OSX86 on them, just for the irony alone.

    LOL^^^^^^^

I'd like to try one. Maybe someday. .
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.
