If one more bag is torn up...

If I find one more garbage/recycle bag torn up in my garage from the neighborhood cat strays, I'm going into the cat fur scarf business. I'm sick of it.

    /rant off

(Anyone know a good way to keep the cats out of the garage/off the propery besides keeping the garage door closed and/or buying a .22 rifle with scope?)

They have sour apple sented sprays that cats hate, it may keep them away, otherwise just close the damn door.

Get a big jar of chile powder...sprinkle the area...refreshing with another sprinkle every several days. Any animal following its nose to the cans...will turn 'n run with substantial discomfort once they inhale that powder.

I used that with great success in keeping neighbors dogs from pinching a loaf on my front lawn back at my old house.

You sure it's cats? Not skunks/coons/possums?

    Hope this may help you.

    Hi Mountainman,
I have the same problem with cats in my neighorhood, besides trashing my garage, they lay on my hood or trunk of the car and scratch it..

I found a product called XP-20, At my local garden center, when I was having problems in my garden from rabbits (THOSE DEVILS) it is supposed to be used for deer and rabbit repellent, I accidently spilled some near my trash bags and the cats stayed away from my trash bags for about 2 weeks, when they came back I sprayed some more in that area.. It works..

It comes in a plastic spray bottle 24 oz, and is ready to use from the pump spray..But use CAUTION around children and family pets.

This product has a active ingredient called THIRAM. It is supposed to be safe for trees and shrubs

    Hope this helps you..

At one point I set traps and then took them to the local shelter. If the people really love their cat they'll go looking for it. It may sound cruel to some but it sure ended the problem... Fast!

just put a sign on the trash can "no cats allowed".
