System and PSU look good.
I think for video editing you want the 2 drives separate. Not really a video editing guy though.
Building a new rig curious what you guys think? Any suggestions?
I have two questions I was planning on putting the OS on the 250gb HD and using the 750gb as storage for doing my video editing and such. My question is would it be a better idea to get say 2x500gb HD and put them in Raid 0?
Also is the power supply adequate enough for this system?

I wouldn't put anything with Norton or Symantec near or on my system.. also might want to get the Eclipse II keyboard its got more colors and more features
For the HDD I'd get a 74gig raptor for speed and perhaps a 1T for storage later on. Your going to bottle neck the system with that slower 750Gig drive..seen that with my current build. You will be happier with the Raptor![]()
The raptor is a little faster, but if you need the storage room your better off going witht eh 250 and 750, tho if 74 gigs is enough then the raptor and the 750 would work out nice too.
The the drive you can run the OS on the better, but no matter what the hard drives will be a bottle neck.
Also the 1TB Hitachi drives are quite fast.
from what i have read, have 2 seperate drives so one can read and one can write, should be faster for video work IMO.
and plenty of HDD space as well
very nice build
video editing raptor or the velociraptor

ok what about one of the combinations listed below:
74 gb raptor 10rpm 16mb 1.5 sata for OS only
& a 750 gb 32mb 7200rpm 3.0 sata for storage
or
300gb raptor 10rpm 16mb 3.0 sata to run all
or
2 640gb 7200rpm 32mb 3.0 sata drives in raid array to run all
If you buy and install Norton, you might as well just stab yourself in the editing hand.
The latest Norton/Symantec is suppose to be rather good.
Avira Antivir has a free version thats lightweight too.
As much as I've loathed Symantecs products for the past several years, their latest 09 version is actually VERY light...it's about the same in resource use as the 2 current top lightweights....AntiVir and NOD32.
Spend some time at the best "antivirus expert" forum around...Wilders Security, and you'll see the knowledgeable ones over there praise it too.
They are back in the game with their 09 product.

I bought symantec anti 09 for my wife, seems better compared to my kaspersky antivirus![]()

ugg.. still on with symantec I see
Might get a better video card too..I've never really seen good results from the sparkle brand.. try xfx, bfg, evga for better built cards
So out of the ones listed which one?

or should I get two of these to run in SLI mode and change mobos?

I would need to change to a mobo that supported SLI correct so how about one of these?
