Damn, my grandfather died this morning

In the hospital already for pneumonia, getting better, had a massive heart attack this morning.

Made it to 102, still completely lucid.

Now my problem is...do I drop everything here (retail job at busiest time of year, 5 dogs, 2 parrots) to fly from CA to Pennsylvania for the funeral?

Really want to be there for my father but doing this for my grandmother's funeral 1 1/2 years ago almost wiped me out.

I know where you are Bro. I lost2 Grandparents while I was living in Japan and though it really hurt emotionally, I simply could not get back to the States. I would have literally spent thousands.

money comes and money goes but regret lasts forever.

Only you can answer this. Be open with your family. No one can fault you for being open and honest.

Man, Iím really sorry to hear this. But as previously mentioned, a 102, can you even imagine what this man has seen and done over the course of his life?

I am so sorry Grandparents are such special people, and what a magnificent life your Grandfather must have lived. Speak honestly with your Father and see how he is holding up as well...you will know the correct answer. Prayers for you and your family, that you will be strong for each other, and the grief pass as quickly as possible.
