One thing I disagree with is the disappearance of discrete graphics boards and GPUs. While AMD and Intel may be working on CPU/GPU "fusion" products, those will mostly line the integrated world, ala laptops and notebook computers, not desktop. The article states that using 4-cores of a CPU will allow "blistering" gaming performance, this is false. CPUs and GPUs are very different, and the Vec units on a CPU just aren't there for "blistering" gaming performance. Now, Intel is of course working on an x86 driven CPU/GPU architecture called Larrabee, but it has yet to be seen how powerful this thing is actually going to be. As it stands right now, GPUs are far more powerful than CPUs for graphics, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. When it already takes 2, 3 or 4 of these GPUs to push the latest games at maximum in-game settings at high resolutions I don't see CPU cores being able to compete with this.
