    Savoy Brown

Are there any fans of this blues rock band on the forum?

Dunno but sometimes I like pulling out Hell Bound Train or Looking In and Jack The Toad and cranking it up.

Oh yeah....Street Corner Talking is a pure gem of an album if you're a blues rock fan.

    Damn Straight!

Years ago they use to film Don Kirshners "rock concert" at the Long Beach Auditorium (no longer there). They had a small stage at the back of the auditorium where they would film bands and you could go for free. I saw them play there with about 200 other people.

My dad is a big Savoy Brown fan; probably has every album on CD.. He bought me "Looking In" for xmas some years ago. It's one of my favorite classic blues/rock albums.

Jerimiah said his peace and fell back in the road
He was shot by Coulee Reese
Who they nick-named Jack The Toad
Just across his shoulder just a little to the right
He heard the click of a 45 hammer
So he throws himself down and he hits the ground
Rolls right over and spins 'round
And with one good shot, just one good shot
He brings that villain right down
    In true "Hour Western" manner

Great band...up until Lonesome Dave left. After that they went south.

We'll have to agree to disagree, Tony.

    Hellbound Train
    Lion's Share
    Jack The Toad

Dave left to form Foghat in 72. Those three albums are all great albums even though Dave isn't playing on them.
