My Fishing trip to Lake of the Woods, Ontario..

I just returned from Lake of The Woods in Ontario and man was it a blast. I went with my boss and a co-worker. It was their 7th straight trip and my first so I had some good experience to call upon. We caught a lot of Walleye and ate good too! Everyone goes up there dreaming of catching a huge Musky. I saw several, hooked 2 40"+ and finally on the last day boated a very small one. Still consider it a success. Big giant Northern Pike and big Walleyes galore. I also caught some real nice Smallmouth Bass, Perch & Sauger. Taking in the scenery was something wonderful. Stayed up there a full week. Here is a link to a quick picture site I made. A few of them (page 3) are short videos I took with the digital camera. We saw a Black Bear crossing from island to island and I got some video. Amazing wildlife we saw, Bear, Wolves, Deer, Fox, Bald Eagles, etc...

Sounds like fun. Been meaning to do some more fishing. So far I have one 38 dollar trout, need to at least bring that down to two 19 dollar trout

    Looks like a great trip!!!

I have a cousin who lives in Alaska. He's invited me up to fish for salmon sometime. I really need to go.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. I need to do a week long trip very soon. I have been working way too hard. If we get a break in the weather next weekend I may take the yak out for some striped bass fishing.

What? A gaff for pike? wussies

That's not me in the pics, but this is the pike that all fishermen dream of catching. He hooked a smaller pike (just under 30") and the larger one hit it on the way in. BTW, he landed both fish!

Northerns are crazy and when they hit it's not finicky like a Muskie. I lost count how many Northerns we caught. Lake of the Woods is one of the last places where a true record Muskie can be had. I really wanted a 50" + monster, but there is always next year!
