So what do ya'll think of the new Slipknot?

    New masks and all....

I dunno, I've always liked them and this is no exception....love the solos in the songs now.

Release date is August 26th. I pre-ordered on iTunes to get the bonus stuff.

    I would love to see a co-headline Metallica/Slipknot tour.

I thought it was a slow and kinda boring format of Before I forget.

Whats next a spoken word album from them?

    Solo was nice though.

Like Duality and Before I forget, those are groove oriented.....I prefer songs like Wait & Bleed but I dig where they at least changeup and give you a chance to get into a solid beat.

Is it really that much different from Left Behind?

But still....for me, the essence of the band is captured in the song Purity.

I've been too busy listening to Cavalera Conspiracy, man that record rules my head. Looking forward to checking out the new 'knot record though.

I thought they were going to start leaving behind their masks... I'm not hearing anything special in the first video up there, but I do like some of their stuff.

I think that's what a persons voice should sound like when they have excessive phlegm in their throat. I hate growling. No offense to fans of that stuff, but anyone can growl.

Not a big fan of the growling at all. The lead singer has a pretty good voice and sounded pretty good in Stone Sour. Never understood the masks either.

Anyone can in fact growl so yes my comment is accurate. Not everyone though can play their instruments like they can and I would be one of them. That said I could easily growl my way through that song so I'm ready when you are.

All that said sorry you appear to have taken offense to my comments. Just making an observation about their singing ability or in this case lack thereof.

Of course there is music I like that you probably wouldn't like yourself so it's all just a viewpoint.

Anyone can growl just like anyone can sing. Some are much better at them than others.

Its harder than you think to be good at it.
