    Computer shutting down

    Hey Guys,

I think i have a virus and my computer keeps shutting down on me. It basically gives me a box saying 'your computer will shut down in :01 seconds" so i have no time to even do a shutdown -a command. Does anyone know of a program that will halt or disable shutdown commands from being run?

    Thanks for your time
    matt!

All windows updates? Good updated antivirus program? Lots of exploits out there a few years ago that used DCOM/RPC vulnerabilities....that kicked in the NT/Authority shutdown. (MSBlast was a biggie years ago)

Sorry had to type that message quickly. Its a PC. Yes all the latests antivirus software on it. I've tried booting in Safe mode. I think one of my friends might have installed a little program to shutdown the computer as a joke but not so funny. I only have a few minutes before it actually shuts down and if i could just find a program that watched for a shutdown command to be issued and cancel it i would be fine and could figure out where its coming from. I tried looking around on google but cant really find anything.

Grab a linux live cd iso and burn it if you can.

You can boot to that and search around for anything that way.

And I think Samuel4u should be banned for spamming.
