    SSH Cisco ASA5505

I have a new ASA5505 that I am using in transparent firewall mode.

I can't figure out how to enable SSH and use it remotely?

    Any advice is appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Configure SSH on ASA

    1) enter into configuration mode by typing "config t"
    2) enter "crypto key generate rsa general-keys modulus 1024"
If you know you will only access the SSH from a certain IP address enter "SSH x.x.x.x x.x.x.x outside" where the first set of x's represent the IP address you will be coming from and the second set of x's (space in between the 2 sets) is the subnet mask. If you want to ba able to access it from anywhere enter SSH 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outside" but be sure to configure a strong password because this means anyone can reach the ASA through SSH and just try a brute force attack on te username and password.

You will also need to create and enable password to connect. Config t, password [type password].
