well, yeah that is pretty high, also what mobo/memory/hsfan are you running?

my temps for my celeron 600 at 855 are 34'C idle and 45'C full is that too hot or should i keep overclocking? oh and how much thermal paste/glue should i use between the heatsink and cpu?
thanks

i have a soyo 6vba 133 via appollo board, with 128 mb ram, not sure what type of ram? its 133 mhz though. glob-orb heatsink
thanks yikes
p.s whats the best utility for checking the temp of chip and mb
yikes
Holy jesus! That high of a temp with a Golden Orb!!!! You live near the equator dont you?. Are you sure all of your system fans are working properly? What kind of case do you have your setup in? Small cheaper cases mean less air flow/weaker-less fans, etc. Maybe a nice new case could answer your woe's.
Probably the motherboard's BIOS.Originally posted by yikes:

Get a good 60mm fan 'n put it on the orb with hot glue, also make sure you got good thermal compound on the CPU
this is a celeron man. yeesh my 433 ran that hot w/ out bein o/c. same w/ this stupid p3. ...o/c...my celeron ran fine at those same temps. u should be ok, just don't shoot the voltage up
I would be fine with those temps, but then again, I am running a duron.

Yeah, I think AMD CPUs actually run hotter.

seriously man it's totally fine, this pos sometimes runs in the 50s!
Its a Coppermine Celeron, these shouldn't run any hotter than 40C or so, they can't withstand as much heat as AMD cpuz
About your thermal paste they say take a razorblade and GENTLY rub it across the core. Get artic Silver it is worth the extra money but it is the best thermal paste out there. www.coolerguys.com you can get all your cooling needs their.
Look at table 37 on page 57. It shows the max temp @90. I know you don't want it that hot, but that's the temp it can get to before the transistor junctions start to breakdown.

Ya CPUs can withstand really high temps, but i'm talking about OPERATING temps. Coppermines won't run stable @ any higher than round 50C while AMD Cpus are quite happy @ 50C
so my no fan cele 566 at 32 is ok?
Yeah thanks guys and girls, i took off the heatsink and fan and put some fresh thermal grease on it now it runs super cool!!! 31 no load. 34 or 35 max at full load!!!
