Can't connect to the internet anymore

I downloaded tcp optimizer and used the optimum settings. As soon as I rebooted my computer my cable internet connection was running fine but I get a cannot find server error whenever I open internet explorer. I tried setting tcp optimizer to the windows default setting but I still couldn't connect to the internet. I tried resetting the tcp/ip settings and reinstalled winsock but I still have no connectivity. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

doesn't sound like a optimizer issue.. unplug your cable modem for 15seconds and plug it back in..if you have a router, unplug it too and plug it in after your cable modem is synced back up

Tried that already. I left my cable modem unplugged for 5 minutes and plugged it back in. The modem connection seems to be working. Packets are still being sent and recived on the network. I assumed this was an issue with optimizer b/c the connectivity issues started as soon as I tweaked the settings on my pc.

Try running it again with optimal settings and reboot, look to see if you have any malware on the computer that might be conflicting with the settings and sucking up bandwidth when it does work.

Also under Network connections, right click on the adaptor and check the TCP/IP properties...its possible everything got switched off from auto detect for some reason.

What speed did you pay to get?

    Post your TCP Analyzer report.

    Windows Scaling - checked
    Timestamps - uncheck

    Advanced Settings tab:
Max Connections per Server - 10
    Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 20
    LocalPriority - 1
    Host Priority - 1
    DNSPriority - 1
