Question Connect to Server while not logged into domain

Can someone tell me how to setup access to a server so that it prompts you when you are not on the domain?

I have a server 2003 file server. When logged in as a local admin of a pc, it does not prompt you to login when you try to browse to the server. It just tells you that you do not have permission. I want to to prompt you so you can login and access the resources.

    Any help?

Has 3 main shares for everyone to see/access but inside of there there are individual NTFS settings.
