Thumbs down Windows XP Loading Problems

    Hello All.

I've been searching the forms for ideas to solve my problem, but nothing seems to be working.

The problem is that my computer won't load windows, and it continues to restart instead.

I've tried to disable this feature with the knowledge of this forum, but since I can only get into safe mode, I cannot do it. Also, I cannot do a system restore, essentially for the same reason.

Also with the knowledge of this forum, I checked for errors by checking the Event Viewer. I've searched for this error, but I cannot find it anywhere.

It reads: The COM+ Event System detected a bad return during its internal processing. HRESULT was 8007043C from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp

    Any ideas?!

To stop the infinite reboot loop:
    1. start comp in safe mode.
    2. rt click My Comp icon on Desktop > select Properties.
    3. Advanced Tab > Startup & Recovery section > Settings button > uncheck "Automatically restart".

Next, while still in safe mode:
    1. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer
    2. Look at events for Application & System to narrow down the cause of the problem.

Likely an update from MS that screwed things up:

    Thanks for the help.

But strangely enough, I just unplugged the computer from the wall then plugged it back in... and it works!

    I do not 'get' computers.
