    Microsoft Photo Viewer

How can one go about getting the program, I think called, Microsoft Photo Viewer. When you click a link for a photo on a web site, in an email or the file in Windows Explorer, this program is on most XP and later machines, but does not seem to be on mine.

I have the full Adobe Photoshop and pics open in that, which takes a while to open. This other program opens real fast and seems pretty streamlined, just viewing/printing photos.

Rt click an image icon in windows explorer.
    Select "open with".
Choose application Windows (microsoft) Picture & Fax Viewer.
Put a check in box "always use this program for files of this type" (or similar wording).

Thanks, worked sorta. Just I had to go to Folder Options, File Types to actually get the check box.

I couldn't even find that program going through the Start Menu, Programs, looked in Accessories and other places. I thought I didn't even have it installed.

Only wierd thing is for .gif & .jpg, it shows the icon, (when viewing files in Windows Explorer), for Omni-Page Pro instead of for Pic&Fax Viewer and I can't seem to change that.

    1. Right click an image icon in windows explorer.
    2. Select "open with" > Choose Program...
    3. Choose application Windows (microsoft) Picture & Fax Viewer.
    4. Select Windows Picture & Fax Viewer
    5. Put a check in box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

It could not be more simple!
